BOULDER, Colo. (AP) - Authorities have released the name of a man who was shot and killed by a Boulder County sheriff’s deputy at a popular trailhead.

The county coroner’s office identified the man Friday as 39-year-old Lue Vang, of Northglenn.

The Daily Camera reports ( ) deputies were investigating after two people were reportedly abducted at gunpoint in Westminster. They tracked the suspect’s cellphone to a trailhead in Eldorado Springs on Wednesday afternoon and saw a man in the back seat of a car with a gun pointed at the person in the front seat.

Prentup says the deputy fired one shot, killing the suspect. The men in the car were related.
