LOVELAND, Colo. (AP) - Authorities have released the name of a man who was hit and killed by a train in Loveland.
The Larimer County coroner’s office identified the victim Friday as 65-year-old Galen Kirchmer, of Loveland. His death has been ruled a suicide.
The Fort Collins Coloradoan reports (https://noconow.co/1d5L12y ) construction workers nearby heard the train blow its whistle as it approached Thursday afternoon. Joshua Bentley and the crew were working about 30 feet from where Kirchmer was hit, and he said he saw the man earlier in his car looking intently at the tracks.
In February, a train struck a 16-year-old girl as she walked along the tracks.
