ST. PETERS, Mo. (AP) - Police in the St. Louis suburb of St. Peters say the son of a woman missing since mid-April apparently killed himself around the time she disappeared.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch (https://bit.ly/1DHWWJa ) reports that authorities continue to search for 77-year-old Mary Buckley, who has Alzheimer’s disease and is unable to survive without oxygen.

Police issued an alert earlier this week. Neighbors said they had not seen Buckley since mid-April.

Her 51-year-old son’s body was found by hikers in a St. Charles park on Tuesday. He was 51 and had been her only caregiver.

Police found Buckley’s silver SUV in a wooded area near Bridgeton Thursday night, but found so signs of her. Police believe the vehicle had been left there by her son.
