SHERIDAN, Wyo. (AP) - A Sheridan man has died in a crash west of Dayton after losing control of his semitrailer on a steep grade in the Bighorn Mountains.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol reports 36-year-old Tyrone Elam lost control of his rig coming down the mountain on U.S. Highway 14, about 12 miles west of Dayton, on Thursday afternoon.

Sheridan Media reports (https://bit.ly/1Epvc0C ) that the brakes on Elam’s rig failed after they overheated. The truck overturned on a right-hand curve and slid into a rock face. Elam died at the scene.
