NIBLEY, Utah (AP) - A ban of water usage imposed on residents of the northern Utah town of Nibley has been partially lifted.

City officials say residents now can use the water for showers and other uses around the home, but not for drinking.

The ban was partially lifted Friday after tests showed the water is clean, but Nibley officials say they want to see the results of additional tests over the weekend before authorizing it for drinking.

Officials believe a farm truck leaked diesel fuel into the ground near Yeats Springs on April 18. Crews have been flushing out the city’s water delivery system since the water contamination was discovered Wednesday.

Residents will be asked to flush water pipes in their homes, with different parts of Nibley flushing at different times under a schedule issued by the city.
