ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - A busy highway interchange along the Hudson River in Albany will be shut down for several hours over the weekend for construction work.
The state Department of Transportation says the interchange of Interstate 787 and Interstate 90 on Albany’s northern outskirts will be closed for eight hours ending at 8 a.m. Sunday.
DOT says I-787 north and southbound and I-90 east and westbound will be completely closed, as will all the associated ramps.
The ramp from I-787 northbound to I-90 westbound will be closed beginning at 7 p.m. Saturday.
All other closures will begin at midnight Saturday.
During the shutdown, crews will remove and replace bridge deck panels on the very top ramp carrying I-787 southbound to I-90 eastbound. DOT says all roads and ramps underneath the ramp must be closed during that work.
