GADSDEN, Ala. (AP) - A fire has destroyed a Gadsden home where a woman was robbed and raped earlier this month.

WBMA-TV (https://bit.ly/1FmegZV ) reports firefighters were called to the home around midnight Friday. The blaze destroyed the building. Authorities said the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Three people broke into the home April 13 and robbed the homeowner. Police said one of the suspects also raped the victim. The teenage assailant was subsequently shot and killed.
