ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - The funeral for a 10-year-old Crystal boy whose body was found in the Mississippi River will be delayed a week.

Minnesota Public Radio News reports (https://bit.ly/1HDQYQN ) the family is waiting for Barway Collins’ mother to arrive from Liberia.

The boy’s father, Pierre Collins, has been charged with second-degree murder in his death. He’s being held on $2 million bail. Barway went missing on March 18 and was found April 11.

Pastor Harding Smith said Friday the decision to delay the funeral came about after members of the Collins family negotiated with Liberian immigrant groups that are helping raise money to bring the boy’s mother to Minnesota.

Funeral services were originally expected this weekend.
