LISBON, Portugal (AP) - Gil Vicente boosted its chances of escaping the Portuguese league relegation zone with a 2-1 comeback victory at Academica on Saturday that saw all three goals scored from penalties.

Gil Vicente’s first win in nine rounds left it two points from safety with four more games left.

Academica’s Rui Pedro scored the match’s first penalty in the 26th minute to put the hosts ahead.

But Gil Vicente’s Ruben Ribeiro leveled from the spot in the 38th, and Cadu converted a third penalty to put the visitors in front in the 67th.

Academica played the last 10 minutes with 10 men after Ivanildo received his second booking.

Also, Maritimo’s Moussa Marega scored five minutes from time to snatch a 1-1 draw at Estoril, while Guimaraes drew 1-1 at Rio Ave.

League leader Benfica hosts second-place FC Porto on Sunday with three points separating the title rivals.
