CORALVILLE, Iowa (AP) - A Kalona lawyer accused of harassing a member of a jury that had found him guilty of disorderly conduct has been acquitted of charges in the harassment case.
The Iowa City Press-Citizen reports (https://icp-c.com/1JoUjUz ) that a jury acquitted 54-year-old Raymond Tinnian tampering with a witness or juror and fourth-degree criminal mischief. A charge of first-degree harassment against him was dismissed Wednesday before the acquittal.
Tinnian was arrested Aug. 25 after police accused him of spray painting “GUILTY” and “JUSTICE” on the garage door and side of a Coralville home where a juror in his disorderly conduct case lived. Police also said Tinnian left a letter at the house that indicated he was unhappy with a verdict.
Tinnian on Friday said the acquittal was “a feeble step towards justice.”
