MESA, Ariz. (AP) - A Mesa man has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for using a spy camera to send and receive child pornography.

Maricopa County prosecutors say 20-year-old Marshall MacDonald was sentenced Friday as part of a plea agreement on charges of sexual exploitation of a minor and a dangerous crime against children.

In August 2013, federal authorities found images of a girl using the bathroom and the online user boasted they were taken with a spy camera.

Authorities say they were able to link the crime to MacDonald and executed a search warrant at his Mesa home in December 2013.

Homeland Security Investigations agents say MacDonald admitted to sending and receiving child pornography on a file sharing website and using a spy pen camera to record girls using the bathroom.
