NEW ORLEANS (AP) - A man and a woman were found shot to death in a New Orleans apartment in what police believe was a home invasion.

The Times-Picayune reports (https://bit.ly/1bFiHDB) that 26-year-old Diamonique Lewis and her boyfriend, 25-year-old Louis Brooks, were shot multiple times inside Lewis’ apartment late Thursday night. The two were pronounced dead when police arrived early Friday morning.

New Orleans police spokesman Officer Frank Robertson said Lewis’ 4-year-old and 5-year-old sons were unharmed. Detectives are not sure if the boys were inside the apartment when the killings took place. WDSU-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1KhdYmW) police say the killings appear to have been part of a home invasion.

A neighbor, Jose Cabrara, told The New Orleans Advocate (https://bit.ly/1Khd3mC) he heard gunshots and saw two men run away from the apartment.
