BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - Private nonprofit organizations hurt by storms and flooding in parts of North Dakota last year have less than a month to apply for a federal disaster loan.

The U.S. Small Business Administration says May 19 is the deadline.

Private nonprofits that provide essential services of a governmental nature are eligible. The loans are available in the counties of Benson, Bottineau, Divide, Eddy, McHenry, Mountrail, Pierce, Renville and Ward, as well as the Standing Rock Indian Reservation.

The loans of up to $2 million are to help private nonprofits recover from damages suffered between June 25 and July 1 of 2014. The interest rate is 2.625 percent, with terms up to 30 years.
