LACONIA, Ind. (AP) - Southern Indiana police say a man apparently fatally shot his wife and then took his own life in their home while the couple’s two children were inside.

Harrison County police tell WHAS-TV ( ) that 38-year-old Kenneth Gwin apparently shot his 35-year-old wife, Leah, at their home in the town of Laconia just after 8 a.m. Saturday, and then killed himself.

The couple’s 4-year-old and 12-year-old children were at home during the shootings but fled to the home of a neighbor who called 911.

Authorities say they had made several previous runs for domestic abuse to the residence in the community about 25 miles southwest of Louisville, Kentucky.

Officials said they are executing a search warrant on the home Saturday.
