PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - The state commission that owns much of the land in downtown Providence where the Pawtucket Red Sox want to build a new ballpark are asking the team’s owners for detailed information about their project.

The Providence Journal reports (https://bit.ly/1brsvjN) that principal team owner James Skeffington said in an interview he’s willing to share some information Monday when he and another principal owner, Boston Red Sox president and CEO Larry Lucchino, meet publicly with state leaders.

But Skeffington said he won’t share information with the I-195 Redevelopment District Commission that he feels is confidential for a private company.

The newspaper says a letter Skeffington got from the commission Thursday asked for detailed financial, environmental and site information.

The proposed ballpark for the Triple-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox would sit on former highway land owned by the commission.
