BISBEE, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities are looking for any witnesses to a confrontation that led to a Bisbee police officer responding and fatally shooting a suspect.

The Sierra Vista Herald says (https://bit.ly/1brLjzq) that the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office and Sierra Vista Police, who are investigating the shooting, made a plea Friday for anyone who may have seen the incident.

Bisbee police say a woman reported Wednesday that 51-year-old Carlos Saavedra Ramirez approached her vehicle outside a Safeway and was banging it over a parking issue.

Responding officers say Ramirez was armed with a knife and was acting disorderly.

Police say Sgt. Robert Coronado shot Ramirez in the chest once.

Coronado, a 17-year veteran, is on paid administrative leave pending the completion of the investigation.

Authorities say a knife was recovered from the scene.
