SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) - Two Savannah-Chatham police officers are among roughly 100 Army Reserve soldiers going to the Middle East.

The Savannah Morning News (https://bit.ly/1GiTBC7 ) reports Capt. Hai Tu commands the Army Reserve’s 366th Chemical Company. First Lt. John Holden is also deploying.

Police Chief Joseph Lumpkin spoke Saturday at a sending-off ceremony for the reservists. He said the department would look after the officers’ families while they are away.

The soldiers leave Savannah on Sunday for a one-year deployment.
