BRIDGEWATER, Mass. (AP) - Bridgewater State University police have charged a contract food worker with indecently assaulting a female student.

The Brockton Enterprise reports (https://bit.ly/1bHWEfJ) university spokeswoman Eva Gaffney said the worker was arrested Friday after the student reported she was assaulted on campus April 16. Gaffney said the student told police she knew the man, who has been placed on leave by his employer, Sodexo.

Gaffney said he posted $1,000 bond and was released by campus police. He is to be arraigned Tuesday in Brockton District Court on charges of indecent assault and battery and assault and battery.

The newspaper reports it is the seventh reported sexual assault at Bridgewater State this academic year, and the 13th reported since 2011. The university recently charged a student intern working at the campus day care center with sexually assaulting two young boys there.
