BRISTOL, Va. (AP) - Federal authorities are continuing to investigate a Bristol utility’s financial dealings following several guilty pleas in a kickback case.

Bristol Virginia Utilities Authority CEO Don Bowman says the utility is cooperating with the investigation.

Bowman tells The Bristol Herald Courier (https://bit.ly/1OV6HKd ) that federal investigators have accessed records of thousands of financial transactions involving the utility and two former contractors, Michael Clark of Georgia and Edwards Telecommunications Inc. of South Carolina.

Clark and former ETI president and CEO Todd Edwards each pleaded guilty earlier this month to conspiracy. Prosecutors say Edwards and Clark submitted false billing invoices and paid kickbacks to two former BVU executives.

The former executives, Robert James Kelley Jr. and David Copeland, pleaded guilty in March to conspiracy charges.
