RAWLINS, Wyo. (AP) - There will be no killing of Canada geese at the Rochelle Ranch Golf Course this year.
Rawlins golf supervisor Derk Pfannenstiel put any lethal removal of the birds on hold, even though the Wyoming Game and Fish Department offered to issue the city-owned golf course a take permit.
Pfannenstiel said the geese are nesting and plans to remove the geese have been canceled.
Pfannenstiel tells the Rawlins Daily Times (https://tinyurl.com/oo2vwl8 ) he plans to continue to work with Game and Fish on non-lethal means to remove the geese. That includes trapping and removing them to another location in June.
