BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) - Indiana guard and leading scorer Kevin “Yogi” Ferrell says he’ll return for his senior season.
Ferrell announced his decision not to enter the NBA Draft on Sunday. He was sixth in the Big Ten last season with 16.3 points per game and was fourth in assists at 4.9.
The return of Ferrell, freshman guard James Blackmon Jr. and forward Troy Williams and the recent signing of 6-11 prep star Thomas Bryant gives the Hoosiers a solid core of players for next season.
Ferrell postponed announcing his decision for one day because of the slaying of Indiana student Hannah Wilson. The 22-year-old Fishers woman was found beaten to death Friday about 10 miles from the Bloomington campus. A 49-year-old Bloomington man is being held on a preliminary charge of murder.
