GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) - Aggravated assault charges have been filed against a southern New Jersey man following the death of his father inside the home they shared.

But The Press of Atlantic City (https://bit.ly/1b46KGj) reports that 29-year-old James Sopuch Jr. may now face more serious charges after his father’s death was ruled a homicide on Sunday.

Atlantic County prosecutors say 60-year-old James Sopuch Sr. was found dead inside his Galloway Township home just before 10 p.m. Saturday. An autopsy determined that he died of blunt-force trauma to the head, but further information about how he died was not disclosed.

Bail was set at $100,000 cash for James Sopuch Jr. It wasn’t known Sunday if he has retained an attorney.
