NORTH HAVEN, Conn. (AP) - Connecticut police say a 16-year-old girl hid in her bedroom and called 911 when she heard a burglar in her home.

North Haven Police tell WVIT-TV (https://bit.ly/1DpRBWF ) they responded to the girl’s home near Montowese Avenue on Saturday after she called police at around noon to report a break-in.

Police found evidence that someone forced his or her way into the home and ran to a getaway vehicle. Officers then helped the 16- and 17-year-old residents who were present.



There was no confrontation between the burglar and the residents and no one was injured.

Police say they have identified a suspect, but no one has been taken into custody or arrested.
