SHERIDAN, Colo. (AP) - A Sheridan police officer suffered minor injuries when he was hit by a car door while trying to arrest a man on Sunday.

Police were investigating a suspicious person when the man jumped into a vehicle and took off.

A Sheridan officer attempted to stop the man and got trapped by the driver’s open door.

The officer fell down and the man sped off. Police said they were looking for a suspect.

The officer was treated for scrapes, bruises and a sprained ankle.
