LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - It’s been one year since a deadly and destructive tornado outbreak in Arkansas, and the recovery is still underway.
The death from the April 27, 2014, outbreak reached 16 with lives lost in Faulkner County, Pulaski County and White County. Television station KARK reports (https://bit.ly/1btS182 ) that Mayflower and Vilonia were the hardest hit.
Mayflower Mayor Randy Holland says that patience has been the largest obstacle to overcome. Holland says you have to have a plan for the city and people don’t fully understand that it takes time to put those plans together.
Vilonia Mayor James Firestone says residents want things to happen very quickly. But Firestone says it takes a long time to recover and that people need to be patient and understand there’s a process they must go through.
