2-year-old girl dies from injuries after shooting in Florida

FORT PIERCE, Fla. (AP) - A 2-year-old girl shot in her home has died.

The Palm Beach Post (https://pbpo.st/1GxbW0N ) reports Ma’Keila Burkes died Sunday night. Police say Burkes was shot last Monday night in a residence. She was hit at least once.

Authorities say it isn’t clear whether she was inside or outside of the home when the shots were fired, or who the intended target was.

Treasure Coast CrimeStoppers and the police raised the reward for information surrounding the crime to $5,000.
