Truck drivers who haul goods from the nation’s busiest port complex in Los Angeles and Long Beach could stay home Monday in a long-running labor dispute.

2. CALIFORNIA-NEPAL QUAKE

California is sending 57 urban search and rescue experts to Nepal to help find people buried under rubble after Saturday’s massive earthquake.

3. FIERY TANKER TRUCK DISABLES FREEWAY

A section of a Southern California freeway remains closed as crews repair damage to the roadway caused when a tanker truck loaded with 8,500 gallons of gasoline overturned and burst into flames.

4. CLIPPERS BOUNCE BACK

In the NBA Playoffs, the Los Angeles Clippers answered their worst loss in playoff history with one of their most uplifting victories. Chris Paul had 34 points and seven assists, Blake Griffin added 20 points and 19 rebounds, and the Clippers beat the San Antonio Spurs to even their first-round series at two games apiece..

5. WHO WON BIG AT DAYTIME EMMYS

“General Hospital” and “The Young and the Restless” were the top winners with three trophies each, while the latter shared the best drama series with “Days of Our Lives.”
