MAYFLOWER, Ark. (AP) - Residents of an Arkansas community ravaged by a deadly tornado have gathered for a remembrance ceremony nearly a year after the storm.
Monday marks the first anniversary of the tornado outbreak that claimed 16 lives in Vilonia, Mayflower and other areas of Faulkner, Pulaski and White counties.
KATV-TV (https://bit.ly/1bv6alp ) reports community members gathered Sunday at the First Baptist Church of Mayflower to reflect on the past year. Senior Pastor David Fox says the storm affected every resident in some way.
Residents say they’re still praying and working to rebuild the community.
