JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) - Two Thai nationals from Bangkok were rescued after calling the Alaska State Troopers to say they were lost in the dark.

KINY-AM reports (https://bit.ly/1KnL2tF ) that the couple, Prao Ruang and Tong Phiti, was lost near the West Glacier Trail Peninsula. Troopers were able to locate the pair with the help of their cellphone. With the help of SEADOGS, or Southeast Alaska Dogs Organized for Ground Search, the tourists were found around 1 a.m. Sunday.

Ruang and Phiti told Haines Trooper Andrew Neason that they were about two hours from the West Glacier Trailhead and equipped with a flashlight, supplies and warm clothes.



They were unharmed and declined medical attention.
