FERNDALE, Mich. (AP) - Officials in a Detroit suburb are planning a vote on whether to ban drones from flying over the city.

Television stations WDIV and WXYZ report that Ferndale officials are considering an ordinance on Monday night. It would include an exception for law enforcement use of the unmanned aerial vehicles.

The Michigan State Police have approval for a drone designed to aid in investigations. Earlier this month, Gov. Rick Snyder signed into law a ban on hunting animals with a drone or using a drone to harass hunters.
