ELKO, Nev. (AP) - Passengers on an Amtrak train from Chicago to San Francisco were delayed after a car pulled onto the tracks resulting in a collision that killed the car’s driver.
Elko County Sheriff’s Sgt. Doug Fisher tells the Elko Daily Free Press (https://bit.ly/1bw67Wz ) that the crash was intentional. The driver’s identity has not been released.
The California Zephyr was headed west toward Elko around 2:30 a.m. when it struck the car outside of Wells. No train passengers or crew were injured.
