WOODVILLE, Ala. (AP) - A missing Alabama woman has been found after she stole a vehicle and led police on a car chase before crashing.

WAFF-TV (https://bit.ly/1bJWd4g ) reports Ashley Kennedy was reported missing Friday night.

Jackson County Sheriff’s Office deputies say she stole a vehicle from a Stevenson home Sunday evening and the owner called 911. Police chased her into neighboring towns before deputies threw out spike strips.

Chief Deputy Rocky Harnen says Kennedy attempted to hit a nearby deputy with the car. When the deputy took cover, Kennedy swerved across the highway, struck the spike strips and wrecked.

Kennedy was taken to Huntsville Hospital and her condition is unknown.

Officials say she will face charges including theft, attempting to elude, and attempted murder.
