HEBER CITY, Utah (AP) - Police say excessive speed didn’t appear to be a factor in a Sunday motorcycle crash the killed 23-year-old Conor S. Wilson of Kaysville.
The Deseret News reports (https://bit.ly/1J3VGEU) the man was wearing a helmet and riding gear, but was pronounced dead at the crash site on State Route 40, east of the Jordanelle Reservoir.
Utah Highway Patrol says Wilson probably didn’t notice the semitrailer in front of him slow down as they proceeded up an incline. There is no evidence he decreased speed or attempted to change lanes before he hit the back of the larger, slower vehicle that was hauling a loaded double tanker.
Westbound traffic was routed to the emergency lane for an hour after the accident.
