JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) - The Arkansas State Police say a motorcyclist has died after losing control of his vehicle.

The agency says 43-year-old James Johnson of Jonesboro wrecked near Highway 141 on Sunday night. The trooper who responded says Johnson was traveling at a high rate of speed when he crossed the center line of the highway and struck a tree.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash and the weather conditions were clear at the time.

Johnson was taken to an area hospital where he later died.
