SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - A Vermont state-backed program to train certified coders to work with medical records is about to honor 15 graduates.
State and private sector officials are set to gather at the Sheraton Burlington at 4 p.m. Monday for a ceremony marking the movement of the 15 graduates of the intensive program into year-long apprenticeships with the Precyse medical records company.
In February, more than 800 unemployment and under-employed Vermonters applied for the 15 slots in the training program.
The program is a collaborative effort between the U.S. and state labor departments, Vermont Department of Economic Development and other parties.
