FRANKLIN, Mass. (AP) - A 31-year-old woman is dead after a car driven by her sister slammed into a guardrail.

The single-car crash happened Sunday afternoon on Interstate 495 southbound in Franklin.

State police say the car went off the road near Exit 17 and hit a guardrail.

Whitinsville resident Ashley Hartung was killed instantly. She was a passenger in the car driven by her sister, Crystal Legassey. The 30-year-old Oxford woman was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

No charges have been filed.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
