NEW YORK (AP) - On any day, Central Park is a welcoming respite from the hectic pace of New York City.

Visitors will have another reason to come, beginning May 15.

For six consecutive weekends, eight artworks will help visitors celebrate the varied and peaceful landscapes found along its wandering paths.

“Drifting in Daylight” will focus on the north end of the park, recently restored by the Central Park Conservancy. The area includes the Harlem Meer, Conservatory Gardens and Great Hill.

The artworks range from conceptual to performance pieces.

One, titled “S.S. Hangover,” features a musical fishing boat sailing on Duck Island in the Harlem Meer.

The installation marks the conservancy’s 35th anniversary. It ends June 20.

It’s a presentation of the conservancy and Creative Time and sponsored by Calvin Klein.
