WACO, Texas (AP) - Central Texas authorities are investigating a series of suspicious fires that have damaged nine unoccupied homes in a span of about 15 days.

The Waco Tribune-Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1DGiZ7P ) the latest fire happened early Friday morning. The first fire took place on March 19.

Officials have not drawn a connection between the nine fires and they are being investigated as separate incidents.

Last fall, a string of 12 dumpster, structure and other fires took place in the same area from Oct. 16 to Nov. 4.

Officials said no arrests were made in those fires.
