DAVENPORT, Iowa (AP) - A judge has sentenced a Davenport man to 35 years in prison following a conviction for his role in the robbery and nonfatal shooting of a man.

The Quad-City Times (https://bit.ly/1CBzTm4 ) reports Terrace T. Perkins was sentenced to 25 years in prison for first-degree robbery and 10 years in prison for willful injury by joint criminal conduct. The sentences will run consecutively.

Perkins’ attorney said that his client will appeal his conviction.

Gabriel Almanza had testified in February that he took Perkins and Matthew King to a cornfield to shoot a rifle in July. Almanza says King shot him in both legs when he refused to hand over his cellphone.

Almanza testified that Perkins held him back when he tried to grab the weapon back. King admitted to shooting Almanza and is in prison.
