NEW YORK (AP) - Authorities say a suspected truck thief triggered a brief security incident while fleeing through Kennedy Airport.

Port Authority spokesman Joe Pentangelo (pehn-TAN’-jeh-loh) says police were notified about a possible security breach at a checkpoint around 6 a.m. Friday.

He says TSA workers were pursuing the man when he ran through an exit door at a gate. A pilot helped restrain the suspect.

Police dogs were used to sweep the area, just in case. It was declared safe.
