DANBURY, Conn. (AP) - A 45-year-old man has been charged with attacking a co-worker at a Danbury car dealership and sending a police officer to the hospital with a knife laceration.
Police say Douglas Cooke of Oxford assaulted the co-worker Friday morning during a dispute over construction on the building. The victim suffered facial injuries.
The News-Times reports (https://bit.ly/1FrqEpy ) that when police arrived at the dealership, Cooke refused their commands to drop a sheet-rock knife and got into a struggle with officers, leaving one officer with a laceration wound that required several stitches to close.
Cooke was charged with several counts of assault and posted $15,000 bail. His response to the allegations is unknown. A phone listing for him is disconnected and it’s not clear if he has a lawyer.
