WHEATON, Md. (AP) - Metro is reopening two red line stations in Maryland after firefighters investigated reports of smoke in a tunnel.

Metro closed the Glenmont and Wheaton stations early Friday after smoke was spotted in the tunnel between the two stations, but the stations reopened about an hour later after firefighters inspected the tunnels.

Montgomery County fire department spokesman Pete Piringer tweets that no fire or smoke was found.
