OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - A judge has added state prison time to the federal sentence a woman already is serving in connection to four slayings her son committed in Omaha.

Last month Lori Jenkins, 48, was convicted in Douglas County District Court on two accessory counts. State prosecutors said Jenkins concealed evidence about the purchase of ammunition her son, Nikko Jenkins, used and helped dispose of clothing that had gunshot residue on it.

Lori Jenkins was sentenced on Thursday to eight to 10 years on one charge and 20 to 24 months on the second, court officials said. The sentences are to be served consecutively, beyond her 10-year federal sentence for being a felon in possession of ammunition and of illegally buying ammunition for her son.

Nikko Jenkins has been convicted of killing four people within 10 days after his release from prison in July 2013. He’s awaiting a July death penalty hearing.

The Omaha World-Herald reported (https://bit.ly/1CjJJp3 ) that in court Thursday, Lori Jenkins repeatedly denied involvement.

“I’d like to bring my prayers and condolences to all the victims,” she said, “and let the victims know that I had no knowledge of anything, no engagement in anything. … I recognize that’s my son - Nikko Jenkins. But I wouldn’t give my son bullets to kill my worst enemy.”

Prosecutor Nissa Jones dismissed Lori Jenkins statements as part of an act.

“She puts on a show depending on where she’s at … and what benefit she thinks she can get,” Jones said.
