NEW ORLEANS (AP) - New Orleans police have arrested a 12-year-old boy in an armed robbery and attempted armed robbery.

Officer Frank Robertson tells NOLA.com/The Times-Picayune (https://bit.ly/19RXipa) the 12-year-old, whose name is not being released because of his age, attempted to steal a 65-year-old woman’s purse and successfully stole $2 from two teens waiting for the bus Thursday afternoon.

Around 4:30 p.m., Robertson says officers found a boy matching a description of the suspect at a park about seven blocks away. He says the juvenile had a BB gun and $2.

Robertson says the three victims identified the 12-year-old suspect as the assailant.

Police booked the 12-year-old with two counts of armed robbery and one count of attempted armed robbery.
