BALTIMORE (AP) - A company hired to demolish an old steel mill in Baltimore and the mill’s former owner will undertake $3 million in new environmental projects for the site.

The agreement is part of a settlement over alleged violations of state and federal environmental laws that include water pollution, erosion, sediment control, solid and hazardous waste and asbestos.

Under the settlement agreement, Sparrows Point LLC and MCM Management Corporation will submit proposals for environmental projects to the Maryland Department of the Environment for review.
