PORTLAND, Maine (AP) - The temperature has climbed to a spring-like 66 degrees - one degree shy of the daily record - in Portland, Maine.
The weather provided a taste of spring Friday with the temperature easing past 60 degrees across southern Maine. But it’ll be a different story on Saturday, with colder temperatures, rain and 3 to 6 inches of snow to the north.
Mike Cempa from the National Weather Service says the temperature came within a degree of tying the old record of 67 set in 1967. He said it last hit 60 degrees in Portland back on Nov. 25. Cempa says that day of warmth was followed 24 hours later by the first major snowstorm of the season.
