TULSA, Okla. (AP) - Police say a young boy was shot at a Tulsa hotel that he and his mother were staying at after they were displaced from a recent fire at their home.

Capt. Mike Williams says the 5-year-old was shot in the leg and that his injury isn’t life threatening. The boy and his mother were staying inside a room at America’s Best Value Inn when an unknown man shot the child Thursday night.

Williams says a motive is not known in the shooting. An investigation is ongoing.

No further information was released.
