DES MOINES, Wash. (AP) - King County health officials say two people at the Mount Rainier High School in Des Moines have been diagnosed with active tuberculosis in the last three months.
One person was found with infectious TB in January and another tested positive in late March. Both are being treated.
Officials say their investigation has found no evidence that TB was acquired at the school. Both people had other risk factors that were not related to the school environment.
Just to be cautious, health officials are recommending testing for all students and staff at the school. They’ll be offered free TB testing when they return from spring break.
