SAN DIEGO (AP) - A riptide at a San Diego beach has kept lifeguards busy.
U-T San Diego (https://bit.ly/1FsdHvB ) says they rescued a group of 22 swimmers who were caught in the current Friday afternoon at Mission Beach.
The rip current was about 50 yards wide and 200 yards offshore.
Lee Swanson of the city Fire-Rescue Department says 11 lifeguards, a personal watercraft and a surf rescue boat brought everybody safely to shore.
