OSSIAN, Ind. (AP) - Northeastern Indiana police say three people died when two vehicles collided head-on along a state highway.
The Wells County Sheriff’s Department says 26-year-old Anthony W. Dager of New Haven was southbound on State Road 1 about 4:40 a.m. Saturday when he crossed into the northbound lane, striking head-on a vehicle that was headed to the Fort Wayne International Airport.
The Journal Gazette reports (https://bit.ly/1P8M3t9 ) that Dager survived the crash and was hospitalized, but the three people in the other vehicle were killed.
That vehicle’s driver, Rebecca R. Prentice of Ossian, was pronounced dead at the scene along with the front seat passenger, 64-year-old Paul E. Penrod of Bluffton.
The back seat passenger, 65-year-old Karen S. Smith of Bluffton was airlifted to a Fort Wayne hospital, where she later died.
